Venezuelan citizens gave their guns up back in 2012. This South American country was once heralded as the ideal socialist nation, one which the American leftists wanted to model the United States after.
Lo and behold, socialism has failed Venezuela. Big time. In fact, just a few days ago we could see a military truck plowing through protesters who didn’t stand a chance, and couldn’t protect themselves.
You’ll hear some argue that guns wouldn’t help them against that truck.
True …
But, had they been sufficiently armed they could have prevented it from ever getting to that point. They could have prevented this mess from ever happening.
But, they couldn’t prevent it. After all, when you ban citizens from keeping and bearing arms, only the bad guys and the government will have the guns.
Once that happens, anything can happen and there is no way you can stop them. As we’ve seen, protests don’t work. Often times, the only way that force can be handled is with equal force.
And, as we have all heard at least a few times is that firearms are the great equalizer.
When England tried to ban our firearms back in the 1700s our ancestors didn’t stand for it. In fact, that was the tipping point. When they began confiscating by force guns and powder that’s when we realized that our peaceful actions weren’t going to work.
We went to war and earned our freedom.
The difference between pre-freedom America and Venezuela are tremendous, though. The moment the British tried to take away our God-given right to own weaponry that equalizes force between people and tyrannical government, we went to war.
Venezuela doesn’t have that chance and is screwed.
We are slowly heading down that same path as our gun rights are constantly in jeopardy. Our opponents have a harder time because the right to keep and bear arms is written in the law of the land.
But they are trying as hard as they can. And, with so many socialist nutjobs running for offices and already within our government, it’s just a matter of time before they try to make America a socialist country.
Socialism has always failed. In countries where it hasn’t failed it’s only because it’s too early. Give it time. A socialist country cannot sustain itself.
But, I’m starting to diverge away from my point.
They are pulling on the heartstrings of anyone who’ll listen, telling them that it’s the gun that is the problem, not the shooter. It’s the legal gun owners who are the problem, not the mental case who is the one actually hurting people.
Their lies know no bounds and try to do anything they can to go against truth, even trying to say things like the Second Amendment only applies to hunting.
Because hunting is largely seen as an innocent past time, they will have you believe that “hunting is fine” and that “we only want to get rid of certain guns.”
Which guns? The ones that are capable of causing the most amount of destruction.
So, what’s the point? The Second Amendment is NOT just about hunting or even personal self-defense.
Before I ruffle your feathers, please read on.
Listen, hunting is a great past time where guns are a necessity to do properly. I’m not downplaying its importance.
But, make no mistake, the reason why we can keep and bear arms has very little to do with hunting as the gun grabbers would have you believe.
In reality, the Second Amendment doesn’t say anything about it. Quite the opposite as we’ll see in a moment.
Instead, much like the old miners would process silver as a byproduct of mining gold, so is hunting and anything else you can do with a gun, a byproduct of the original intention of the Second Amendment.
You know what it says as well as I do, but it bears repeating as often as possible so our opposition may not forget —
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. ~ Amendment II
I don’t see anything about hunting or even self-protection in there. They’re still very important and I’m not giving up those rights either, because they fall under the broad scope of the Amendment.
What does it say, then? An armed militia made up of the people is necessary to keep us FREE.
How can that be misconstrued especially when the events of the time are taken into account?
They were fighting for their freedom and the government taking their guns in Massachusetts was the reason the war started to begin with!
Make no mistake, I am the militia.
What say you?
