More information has come out regarding Biden’s gun control executive actions in a Fact Sheet put out by the White House on April 7th, 2021. Most of what is on the fact sheet is not a surprise. These things include:
- The Justice Department will within 30 days issue a proposed rule to stop ghost guns.
- The Justice Department will within 60 days issue a proposed rule to place pistol stabilizing braces on the NFA.
- The Justice Department will within 60 days publish a red flag model for states to follow.
- The administration is investing in “evidence-based community violence interventions.”
- The Justice Department will issue an annual report of firearms trafficking.
- President Biden nominated David Chipman to serve as director of the ATF.
Something not on there that I thought would be was some sort of online ammo ban. Then again, maybe they think they can wait on this because nobody has ammo in stock anyway. And the stuff that is out there is so atrociously priced that nobody can afford it.
Now I want to focus on something and it’s not what I originally intended to focus on. I WAS planning to talk about the top three bullet points on that list, meaning the ghost guns, the braces, and the red flag laws. I already tackled the stabilizing brace bit in that article and talk about how stupid it is.
But after reading the fact sheet in its entirety, I want to point something out that is utterly ridiculous and points out the hypocrisy of the idiots running our country. This bit comes from the fourth bullet point above, about investing in “evidence-based community violence interventions.”
How could that be a bad thing? Right? How could stopping crime where it is actually occurring be a bad thing? Well, you have to read the paragraph underneath it on the Fact Sheet. The below quote comes from the fact sheet, the emphasis on bolding is mine:
Community violence interventions are proven strategies for reducing gun violence in urban communities through tools other than incarceration. Because cities across the country are experiencing a historic spike in homicides, the Biden-Harris Administration is taking a number of steps to prioritize investment in community violence interventions.
So they don’t want to incarcerate people who actually commit crimes with guns.
Do you smell the hypocrisy? The rest of these actions are designed to criminalize the rest of us. People like you and I who have been doing things by the books, building legal guns, putting braces on our pistols instead of stocks, and not hurting people with them are going to be criminalized.
At the same time, they want to look into “reducing gun violence in urban communities through tools other than incarceration.”
Just so we’re all on the same page, incarceration means jail. They don’t want to jail people who commit “gun violence” in urban communities, while at the same time criminalizing the people who have bent over backwards to stay in compliance with the law.
I wanted to be clear on something else that I think is important. That is, much of the crime takes place in these urban areas. A lot of it is gang violence, some of it is even gang on gang violence. And this is the key. They spout off the numbers of high crime rates, high murder rates, “gun violence,” and most of it takes place in the urban areas.
And even though that is true, they don’t want to incarcerate people from the urban areas who commit crimes with a gun, they want to criminalize you and I for owning something that was legal one day, and illegal the next — even though we have never committed a single crime with our guns.
Why? Because it has never been about gun violence. It has always been about the gun control, and, therefore, just the control. They just want to control who has the guns. They don’t want to have any competition, and they want to be the only ones with the guns.
You can see this truth in the fact sheet. Why else would they punish the law-abiding and not those who are actually hurting people?
I’m all for fixing the crime in the cities, but it involves bad people going to jail and not making me a criminal because I own something you don’t like.
You can read the fact sheet for yourself, here. As always, you can leave your thoughts on this in the comments below.
I just fact checked Biden’s speech. What a doozy.
