Atascocita, TX — A jewelry store in TX was the recent victim of an attempted robbery when a man pulled on the locked door to gain entrance into the store.
The door was locked and required an inside employee to buzz people in. Deana Henson, the person who let the man in, said this:
I’m the one who buzzed him in … When he opened the door, and stuck his foot there, and was on the phone, I knew something was wrong.
That’s when three other masked men came in and began to smash the glass showcases in an attempt to steal jewelry during daylight hours, in the afternoon.
The men were caught on surveillance gaining entry to the store and then smashing the cases, as you can see here:
What the suspected robbers didn’t know is that the owner of the store was behind a one-way mirror, watching the entire scene take place.
As they were smashing cases, the owner began to shoot from the office behind the mirror landing two shots on two different suspects, one in the hand and one in the butt.
After the owner began shooting, the four men fled.
The suspected robbers made it to an apartment complex near Uvalde and I-10 where they were later arrested. Police found drugs and jewelry in the getaway car.
Of importance is that some of the jewelry found on scene did not belong to the store that was hit, meaning that they may have been at this for at least a little while.
The robbers are being described as younger, one reported to be 17 years old. He may still be charged as an adult.
The woman who let the suspects in, Deana Henson, said she plans to take her handgun class, now.
This shows the importance of why we recommend carrying a gun on our person at all times, to include at home or in the office where we work. You just never know when disaster will strike.
