The new gun announcements at SHOT Show 2023 continue on as Smith & Wesson releases a new pistol chambered in the 5.7X28mm round.
While it seems like Smith may be late to the 5.7 party, with a bunch of guns being released over the last several years, this one is entirely different than any of the others out there.

Primarily, it is different with what they’re calling the “tempo” system, which is essentially a locking, rotary, two-piece barrel that is said to help the pistol cycle better.
MSRP sits right at $700, and Smith says it comes with two 22 round magazines.
There is an option for a manual thumb safety if that’s your thing, and it is an internal hammer-fired pistol.
Other features are as follows:
- Ambi controls
- Slide cut for optic
- Flat trigger
- Pic rail
- Forward slide serrations
