Our team was able to catch up with the nice folks over at the Glock booth during SHOT Show 2023. What we saw was actually a bit of a surprise. Sitting on the table was the Glock 47 MOS, a previously LEO-only pistol.
The G47 was quietly released to the CBP (Customs and Border Protection) law enforcement agency in 2019. To my knowledge, it was originally for their use, only.
Well, it is now available for the commercial market to purchase, which is always a nice thing to see.
What’s interesting about this pistol is that it offers up some modularity in design. It has parts compatibility with the following Glock pistols, and potentially some future ones:
- Gen 5 G17 MOS
- Gen 5 G19 MOS
- G45 MOS
