The issue Colt discovered is when certain rifles unintentionally discharge a round on the release of the trigger. They have said that the issue is happening because certain hammers don’t meet the proper specs.
Colt has said they they will correct the problem by replacing the hammer in the affected rifles.
If you have one of the affected modern sporting rifles listed above and cross checked with the serial number on their website, they will pay for shipping, replace your parts, and ship your rifle back to you quickly.
Colt has also said that there are still potentially affected rifles out for sale in local dealers. If you are a dealer with Colt MSR rifles in stock, please visit this page: ColtRepairMSR.com.
