What is 360 Buckhammer?
Remington Ammunition recently released a new straight-walled rifle cartridge called the 360 Buckhammer (similar to 350 Legend). It promises to be the next big thing in straight-wall hunting with good ballistics for taking animals up to deer and, according to Remington, black bear in size at under 200 yards.
As of this writing the 360 Buckhammer is being made by Remington, with Federal Premium announcing the product in the Power-Shok line just today.
It is a .358″ projectile, weighing 180 or 200 grains, at least as of now. According to Federal Premium (wholly owned by Vista Outdoors along with Remington), the 360 Buckhammer shoots softer than the 30-30 Winchester with better accuracy out to 200 yards.
360 BHMR platforms:
As of right now, the primary platforms for the 360 are lever action rifles, and it seems as if Henry Repeating Arms is currently on board with building these guns. More manufacturers will likely follow.
360 Buckhammer ballistics:
These ballistics are taken from the Remington website, which you can find when you push on that link. Both charts seem to have a 50 yard zero, which is NOT represented on my charts.
Please see Remington’s chart for more info and a wider range.
